Definitions & scope

These clarifications outline how our consultancy terms apply to South African manufacturing projects.

What does “balanced innovation” mean in practice?

It means we evaluate every product decision — material, process, cost, lifespan — against three criteria: environmental impact, economic viability for the manufacturer, and usability for the end customer. No single factor overrides the others without documented trade-off reasoning.

Are your sustainability claims independently verified?

Our material and process data comes from published South African standards (SANS) and supplier declarations. We do not perform third-party certification ourselves. Clients are responsible for final compliance with export or local regulations.

Do you guarantee cost savings from your recommendations?

No. We provide projections based on current supplier quotes and production volumes. Actual savings depend on scale, supply chain changes, and market conditions. Our deliverables include assumptions so you can test them against your own numbers.

What is excluded from a typical product development engagement?

We do not manufacture prototypes, source raw materials, or handle regulatory submissions. Our role ends at the validated design and specification handover. Clients manage production setup, procurement, and certification independently.

How do you handle confidential information?

All project discussions, sketches, and data are treated as confidential unless agreed otherwise in writing. We sign NDAs on request. Post-engagement, we retain only anonymised process insights for our internal methodology improvement.
